Using the newly developed Process Designer, users can graphically build a workflow for CARIS Onboard. Supporting over 40 industry standard sonar data formats and many of the trusted algorithms from HIPS and SIPS, CARIS Onboard can easily be integrated into any workflow.
CARIS Onboard is an automated service that monitors for raw data files from an acquisition system. As new data is detected it is automatically processed using the workflows built with the Process Designer. By automating many of the standard processing steps required in a modern sonar survey, CARIS Onboard alleviates the processing backlogs associated with today's high data volume environment, dramatically reducing your Ping-to-Chart timeline.
The CARIS Onboard service registers its output data products (e.g. Quality information, DEMs and mosaics) for remote access via the dedicated Control Centre or a CARIS Desktop application. This enables the hydrographer to view the geo-referenced survey in near real-time for quality control and decision support while the survey is underway. This is particularly useful for autonomous operations, allowing re-runs and gap filling missions to be planned and executed without the need to recover the vehicle.
